About Randy
State Representative Randy Truitt, House District 26
Randy Truitt is a proud fourth generation resident of West Lafayette. He is a 1986 graduate of West Lafayette High School and a 1990 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Technology. Randy obtained his M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2002, receiving the Distinguished Professional Award.
Randy’s professional background includes leadership roles in both the bio tech industry and the real estate industry. He currently is a Partner in Main Street Management, LLC and serves as it's President.
After twice being elected as Councilor-At-Large to the West Lafayette City Council, Randy was elected to the Indiana General Assembly in November, 2008. His district, House District 26, includes portions of Tippecanoe and Warren Counties. Randy currently serves on the Courts and Criminal Code and Local Government Committees, and the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.
Being active in the community is of central importance to Randy. He has served in various capacities with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Wabash Valley, United Way of Greater Lafayette, the Hills and Dales Neighborhood Association, the National Football Foundation-Northwest Indiana Chapter, the Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation, and Covenant Presbyterian Church. In addition, Randy has helped raise funds for the YMCA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Museum of Art. He led the effort to raise the needed funds for the renovation of the West Lafayette Little League complex which provides a great environment for the recreational activities of the area’s youth. Randy is a board member of the West Lafayette Little League, Red Storm Athletics and the West Lafayette High School Alumni Association and is a member of Indiana Farm Bureau. He is an active member of the Purdue Alumni Association, a member of the Purdue President’s Council, the John Purdue Club, the Purdue Club of Tippecanoe County, and Theta Chi Fraternity.
Randy is married to Krista Duncan Truitt, who is also a 3rd generation Purdue graduate, and they are blessed with three children- Peyton, Gabrielle, and Harrison. In his free time, Randy enjoys coaching youth sports, following Purdue athletics, biking, golfing, playing basketball and traveling.
